Trauma and victim support
Trauma-informed support, paced carefully and never rushed.
Trauma-informed practices start with a few simple principles: safety, trust and support. There is no pressure to revisit difficult experiences before you are ready. You remain in control of what you share and together we will work at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.
Trauma is held in the body as much as in the memory, so alongside talking we may use nervous-system and somatic work: practical ways of helping your body settle when it has learned to stay on alert.
This may be a good fit if
- You have experienced or witnessed something frightening or harmful
- You are a victim of crime and need support alongside any formal process
- You feel constantly on edge, jumpy, numb, or easily overwhelmed
- Sleep, memory or concentration have been affected
- Something from a long time ago has resurfaced
What sessions look like
- Pacing is led by you. There is no requirement to give a full account
- We build steadiness and coping first, before going anywhere near the difficult material
- Practical grounding and nervous-system tools you can use between sessions
- Available in person or online
